The Inter-American Children´s Institute (IIN) is the Specialized Organization of the Organization of American States (OAS) on children and adolescents. As such, the Institute assists States with developing public policy, contributing to policy design and implementation from the perspective of the promotion, protection and respect for the rights of children and adolescents. The IIN´s highest authorities are its Directing Council represented by the most senior authorities on childhood from the Member States of the Inter-American System.This positions the Institute as a space for crafting consensus and commitments by the governments, as an articulator within theInter-American System and as a technical reference point at the regional level on issues of children and adolescents.
