On October 24-26, 2003, a Seminar on “Metohology of Research I” was carried out in the IIN Headqueartes. This activity was held in the framework of the Master’s Degree Program on Policies on Drug Abuse Prevention for Children and Adolescents that the IIN and the University CLAEH of Uruguay are implementing. The Seminar was conducted by Mr. Enrique Warner, M.P.H., Panamanian Epidemiologist linked to the IIN Program for the Integral Promotion of Children’s Rights since 1993.

The Inter-American Children’s Institute and the National System for Integral Family Development (DIF) of the Government of Mexico held the Fourteenth Workshop of the Inter-American Network for Information on Childhood and Family (RIIN) in Mexico City, since October 21st to October 24th 2003, with the purpose of carrying out a general evaluation of the Network’s work strategies, as well as exchanging experiences and setting a program of priorities for the following year.

The Members of the United Nations’ Committee on the Rights of the Child for the Americas— Marilia Sardenberg (Brazil), Rosa María Ortiz (Paraguay), and Norberto Liwski (Argentina)— held a working meeting with Alejandro Bonasso, Director General of the Inter-American Children’s Institute, and with Julio Rosenblatt, Coordinator of the IIN’s Information Program, on Monday 1^st September, in the city of Montevideo (Uruguay).

.Isla Paterson, Pascal Medieu and Delmer Björklund made up the delegation of CIDA Canada that visited the Inter-American Children´s Institute Headquarters in september 29th-30th, with the purpose to outline the basis of the joint cooperation between the CIDA and the IIN in the region.
