RECOMMENDATION TO PIINFA FOR RIIN ON-LINE OPERATION
(Submitted by the delegations of Chile and Colombia) 

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, 

CONSIDERING: 

1. That the Strategic Plan 2005- 2008 of the Inter-American Children’s Institute included in its strategic guidelines the promotion of the Information Systems developed by the IIN;

2. That the Strategic Plan specifically proposes to keep promoting the capture and dissemination of information and recognizes the usefulness of the technological tools developed by the IIN for the promotion of inter-country horizontal cooperation and the rational use of resources;

3. That in such connection the RIIN on-line operation is consistent with the objectives of the Strategic Plan in order avoid any delay in data updating as well as additional logistic expenses to send the information to focal centers and sub-centers;

RESOLVES:  

To entrust the Office of the Director General and particularly the Inter-American Child and Family Information Program (PIINFA) to take the necessary steps for the RIIN on-line operation within a reasonable period of time.
