APPOINTMENT OF ALEJANDRO BONASSO LENGUAS
AS DIRECTOR GENERAL EMERITUS
AND PERMANENT ADVISOR TO THE IIN
(Submitted by the delegations of Costa Rica and Uruguay)
THE
DIRECTING COUNCIL,
HAVING
SEEN:
The
dedicated and successful task accomplished by Alejandro Bonasso Lenguas in
his capacity as Director General of the Inter-American Children’s
Institute in the períod 2000-2005;
CONSIDERING:
-
That
since 1987 the Directing Council of the IIN has consecutively
appointed as Director Emeritus and Permanent Advisors Rafael Sajón in
1987 (CD/RES. 13 67-R/87); Rodrigo Crespo Toral in 1988 (CD/RES. 14
68-R/88), and Eugenia María Zamora Chavarría in 1995 (CD/RES.
11/72-R/95);

That
during the term of office of Alejandro Bonasso the IIN was able to
introduce a series of changes in its institutional image, its Statute
and Rules of Procedure, and its management through Strategic Plans
that translated into a more intensive and decisive presence of the
message conveyed by the Inter-American Children’s Institute in the
countries in the region;

That
this Directing Council has decided to sep counting on the Mr.
Bonasso’s specialized advice;
RESOLVES:
-
To
express its deepest recognition to Alejandro Bonasso for his excellent
performance as Director General of the IIN and for his commitment and
valuable professional contribution for the benefit of children in the
region.

To
appoint Alejandro Bonasso Lenguas as Director General Emeritus and
Permanent Advisor to the IIN.
