SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE DIRECTING COUNCIL OF THE IIN
A
Special Meeting of the Directing Council of the IIN was held on November
17 and 18, 2003 at OAS Headquarters in Washington, D.C. On the meeting's
Order of Business were the following central issues:
-
Annual Report of the Director General,
Lic. Alejandro Bonasso, for approval and submission to the OAS General
Assembly;
-
The Best Interest of the Child and the
Right to Education in the Reality of the Region;
-
Inter-American
Program of Cooperation to Prevent and Remedy Cases of International
Abduction of Minors by One of Their Parents;
-
Progress Report on the XIX Pan American
Child Congress, to be held in Mexico City in 2004, on the subject of
the Family;
-
Reform to the Statutes of the IIN;
-
2005-2008 Strategic Plan.
The
renowned International Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which is
coordinating activities with the IIN, welcomed the Delegates of the
Institute at its Headquarters in Washington to show its recognition for
the Institute’s work.
